Doubling down allows you to double your original bet in exchange for receiving exactly one additional card. This is highly profitable when you hold a strong hard total. Here is the math.

1. Hard 11 and Hard 10

Always double down on a hard 11 unless the dealer shows an Ace. Double on a hard 10 unless the dealer shows a 10 or an Ace, as your odds of hitting a 10-value card are high.

2. Hard 9
